The Asterisk Development Team has announced release candidates of Asterisk for versions 1.4.32, 1.6.0.28, 1.6.1.20, and 1.6.2.8. These release candidates are available for immediate download at http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk/
Note that support for the 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 branches are moving to security fixes only, scheduled for the first half of May 2010. The Asterisk development team recommends that all users of Asterisk 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 series move to the 1.6.2 series for continued bug fix support.
Asterisk releases for 1.6.0.28 and 1.6.1.20 are the last scheduled maintenance releases for Asterisk branches 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 and will move to security maintenance only after their full release.
